Half-day excursion to Bilbao and visit to the Guggenheim Museum, from Vitoria
Description
To the north of Vitoria-Gasteiz lies the financial capital of the Basque Country, Bilbao. A city of medieval rural origins that was transformed at the end of the 19th century by industrialisation, completely modifying local customs and architecture. One of the elements that had the greatest impact, both inside and out, on the city's identity since the end of the 1990s, was the construction of the Guggenheim Museum, which has become a symbol of the new Bilbao and has been one of the most ambitious cultural projects of the 20th century.
What we are going to do?
We will start our route in Vitoria, from where we will depart for Bilbao in an organised private transport. Accompanied by a local guide, we will stroll through the old part of the city. We will visit the Arenal, the Plaza Nueva, the Arriaga Theatre and La Ribera Market, among many other important places of the city. Before returning to Vitoria we will visit the impressive Guggenheim Museum, both inside and outside, to discover the contemporary art works of the most influential artists of the last four decades.
