Teide cable car in Tenerife
Description
The Teide Cable Car takes you up to an altitude of 3,550 metres, overcoming a drop of 1,200 metres and only 163 metres from the summit (a special permit is required for this last stretch), in less than 10 minutes. Once at La Rambleta station, you can enjoy its exceptional viewpoints and take a walk along one of the two trails provided for visitors. The Mirador de la Fortaleza Viewpoint Route offers magnificent views of the north of the island, its villages and the astronomical observatories. The Old Peak Route leads to the crater from which the lava flows came from the last eruption in the 18th century.

Important
For health and safety reasons, the minimum age to take the cable car is 3 years. Remember that we are going to be at an altitude of 3,550 metres, so you should be prepared for extreme weather conditions of extreme cold or heat, depending on the time of year. You may experience "altitude sickness" (lack of oxygen), so try to move around calmly and if you are going to do any of the routes on foot you should always keep hydrated. At the cable car station you can acquire information and/or audio guides for safe hiking routes. The stay at the top station of La Rambleta is limited to one hour.
