Sailing on the Costa Dorada, Tarragona, Spain
Description
The Costa Dorada is the coastal area located in the northernmost part of southern Catalonia. Its privileged location allows it to have a very varied territory, ranging from the mountains to the coast, bathed by the Mediterranean Sea and covering the coastal strip from the town of Calafell to the Ebro Delta. The name "Dorada" comes from the golden hue that the sand of its beaches acquires when the sun shines. But this is not the only colour that characterises these lands; the coast is dominated by the turquoise blue of the sea that bathes the beaches, which contrasts with the brightness of the sand and the orange colour it takes on at sunset, creating a spectacular game of colours. It has a total of 81 km of coastline with up to sixty beaches, all of them with a common denominator: fine golden sand and shallow waters.
