Guided visit to the Alcázar of Seville in a small group
Description
The Alcázar of Seville is one of the most interesting monumental complexes in the city. Within the same space, three buildings of very different styles and periods, although of equal importance, stand out. On the one hand, the Casa de Contratación, from where trade with America was organised and controlled. On the other hand, the Mudejar Palace of Pedro I the Cruel, from the 14th century, which concentrates in its rooms a great architectural and decorative richness. It is a place of incredible beauty, where several centuries of history are mixed with great intrigues, marriages and betrayals. Finally, the Gothic Palace, with a collection of impressive tapestries depicting scenes from a great naval battle.
What we are going to do?
We will take a 75-minute guided tour, in a small group of only 15 people and accompanied by an official guide. We will visit the three buildings that make up the Alcázar of Seville, through which such well-known figures as the Catholic Monarchs, Charles V, Christopher Columbus and Magellan have passed. We will learn about the history of the city from different perspectives and we will discover a period of relative tolerance between the three great monotheistic religions. We will stroll through its gardens, which also feature different styles and periods. Here, with the sound of water from the fountains and the scents of a wide variety of species from the four corners of the world, we will feel the presence of the protagonists of fictional stories such as Game of Thrones.
