Combined visit to the Cathedral and Alcazar of Seville
Description
This complete tour includes a visit to the two main monuments of Seville, both declared World Heritage Sites by UNESCO. The Cathedral of Santa María de la Sede is built on the remains of an ancient mosque. It houses more than 40 chapels, one of the largest altarpieces in Christendom, the tomb of Christopher Columbus, countless works of art and liturgical objects still used in large ceremonies. With this tour we will show you the key elements of this vast building, help you find the explanation to some of the religious traditions ingrained in the city's inhabitants and you will also have the opportunity to climb the ancient minaret tower. We will complete this tour of religious art and architecture with a visit to civil Seville, visiting the Real Alcázar. There we will find rooms reminiscent of the tales of the Arabian Nights. We will follow in the footsteps of great navigators and kings and queens. In some of its rooms and incredible gardens, we will find scenes from famous films and television series: Game of Thrones, Kingdom of Heaven and The Plague.
What we are going to do?
We will conduct a guided tour in small groups of maximum 15 people to the two most important monuments of Seville: the Cathedral and the Alcazar. In order to enjoy the visits to the maximum, we have looked for the schedules with less affluence, so, depending on the time of the year, the visit will be organised in a different way. During the months of April, June, September and October we will first visit the Cathedral, with the possibility of climbing the Giralda, and then we will visit the Alcazar and stroll through its beautiful gardens. However, during July and August, as well as in the winter months, the visit will be divided into two parts, with a short break for a rest and a tapa.
