Tickets for Segovia Cathedral
Description
If you visit Segovia you are sure to discover that it is marked by its famous aqueduct. Almost two thousand years ago, the Romans built a very practical civil work that would become the symbol of the city and one of its main tourist attractions. But Segovia has much more, and its Alcazar and cathedral are also on the list of must-sees if you pass through the city. Segovia Cathedral is not just any cathedral, it is the Lady of cathedrals. Late Gothic in style, its construction began in 1525 with the selfless collaboration of the people of Segovia. It replaced the Old Cathedral, located in the current Alcázar Gardens and destroyed during the War of the Communities in 1520. Its visitors will be able to discover all its historical beauties, such as the paving (large open space outside), the Gothic cloister transferred stone by stone from the old cathedral, or the exhibition rooms containing pieces of great artistic and religious value: the Sala de Santa Catalina, the Sala Capitular, the Sala de Tapices y Ornamentos Litúrgicos and the Sala de Pintura Bajo Claustro (Room of Santa Catalina, the Chapterhouse, the Room of Tapestries and Liturgical Ornaments and the Painting Room under the Cloister).
