Guided visit to the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela and the Cathedral Museum
Description
The cathedral in honour of the Apostle St. James is the most outstanding work of Romanesque art in the Iberian Peninsula and one of the most representative centres of Christianity, along with Rome and Jerusalem. That is why thousands of pilgrims come to the city of Santiago de Compostela every year, following one of the many pilgrimage routes to Santiago de Compostela, for religious reasons or simply to contemplate this architectural and artistic masterpiece. The Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985, although it has been a very important monument for centuries in the Catholic tradition. It is here that the tomb of the Apostle St. James is located, which is why it has been one of the most important places of religious pilgrimage in the world for hundreds of years.
