Description
One of the strong points of Cantabria, apart from the beauty of its landscapes, is its gastronomy. It stands out for the variety, quality and richness of its dishes. Firstly, the anchovies from Santoña. They are produced in a traditional way in this fishing town and after a long process they are preserved in olive oil ready to serve. Secondly, the vino de la Tierra (local wine), whose production area is made up of the land suitable for the production of wine grapes. Lastly, Pasiego desserts. Sobaos pasiegos and quesada are other delicacies that can only be found in Cantabria.
What we are going to do?
We will leave Santander and head towards Santoña. There we will visit one of its main canneries and discover the anchovy production process. The next stop will be to visit the vineyard of Bodegas Vidular, where we will walk through their vineyards and taste their wines with an aperitif. We will then head towards the Pasiegos Valleys, where we will have lunch. After this short stop, we will take a panoramic tour of the area in our minivan to the Mirador de la Braguía. Finally, we will return to Selaya to visit the largest cheese and sobaos factory in the area: Sobaos Joselín. Here we will take a guided tour of the factory and the "sobao and quesada museum". To complete this visit, we will enjoy a guided tasting of their products.
