Excursion to the caves Monte Castillo and the Valles Pasiegos from Santander
Description
The famous caves of "El Castillo" and "Las Monedas", a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2008 for their cave paintings. The paintings in El Castillo Cave are considered to be among the oldest surviving cave paintings in the world. You will be amazed by the legacy our ancestors left us thousands of years ago.
What we are going to do?
En nuestra ruta atravesaremos pueblos, ríos y montañas hasta llegar al puerto de montaña de Estacas de Trueba, donde conoceremos la espectacular cascada que forma el nacimiento del río Yera. Continuando la ruta, pararemos también en el pueblo de Vega de Pas para conocer el Museo de las Tres Villas Pasiegas.
