Visit and gastronomic experience in a Basque cider house
Description
Cider (called "sagardo" in Basque, meaning apple wine) is one of the most traditional Basque drinks. The magic that surrounds its production (made in traditional Basque farmhouses for centuries) can still be appreciated in the cider houses ("sagardotegis"), where people from the surrounding area originally went to taste and buy this delicious drink, and where a long tradition of production dating back to the 11th century is still maintained today. In the cider houses it was customary to take some food with you so as not to drink on an empty stomach. Over time, many have become restaurants and places for social gatherings where you can enjoy the most traditional gastronomy of the Basque Country.
