Guided tour of San Sebastian
Description
San Sebastian is the capital of Guipuzkoa, the smallest province in Spain but one of the most attractive for tourists. As soon as you arrive, La Concha Beach invites you to go for a swim and a pleasant walk along its shores, even in winter. The elegance of its bay, framed by Mount Igueldo and Santa Clara Island, is world famous. If San Sebastian's natural scenery is delightful, the good taste of its people has made its bridges, squares and buildings even more so. You will feel immersed in the "Belle Epoque" as you pass in front of the Victoria Eugenia Theatre, the Maria Cristina Hotel or La Perla Spa.
What we are going to do?
We will take a 2-hour guided walking tour of the Old Town of San Sebastian in a small group. Starting from the border between the Old and the New Town (where the walls were built in the 19th century) we will walk through the winding streets visiting the two main churches and the most emblematic "pintxo" streets. Later we will understand the expansion of the city during the early years of the 20th century with the influence of the Spanish Queen Maria Cristina and the construction of many of San Sebastian's most characteristic buildings such as the Hotel de Londres and Maria Cristina, the Buen Pastor Cathedral, the Tabakalera Museum, the Victoria Eugenia Auditorium and much more. We will complete the experience with a tasting of "pintxos" (typical Basque snack) and a drink in one of the many traditional bars in the Old Part of the city.
