Private tour in Pontevedra
Description
"Pontevedra dá de beber a quen pasa" is a Galician saying that expresses very well the essence of this city: hospitality. This tradition of hospitality is reflected in the Pilgrim Virgin, emblem of the Portuguese Way, honoured by the people of Pontevedra with a curious church, a national monument, with a plant in the shape of a scallop. In Pontevedra there are so many treasures; the collection of gold and silver work in the Museum of Pontevedra, the Basilica of Santa María, the Ruins of Santo Domingo and the Church of San Bartolomé.
What we are going to do?
The tour starts in the centre of Pontevedra, in the Praza da Ferrería, where we will explain how the city has changed over two millennia of history. We will walk through the pedestrian streets of the historic centre, visit the most famous churches and monuments of the city and explain the raison d'être of many of them. We will stroll to the food market, where local families come to stock up on top quality foodstuffs.
