Excursion to Finisterre and Costa da Morte from Pontevedra
Description
A large part of this route is linked to the Way of St. James to the end of the earth, Fisterra, where pilgrims have been arriving and falling in love with this place since time immemorial. The Romans thought that this was the westernmost point of the earth and, therefore, the world ended here. The cape of Fisterra hides the true secret of the Costa da Morte: wild landscapes and impressive beaches; some with calm waters and others with strong waves.
What we are going to do?
We will leave Pontevedra in the direction of a hidden jewel of the Fisterra route, Pontemaceira. We will follow the route to Muxía, specifically to the Sanctuary of the Virgen de la Barca, one of the obligatory stops of this pilgrim route and of all Galicians. The next stop will be the Fisterra Lighthouse, a place of great symbolism. We will stop in the village of Fisterra where we will have free time for lunch. After lunch, the Ézaro Waterfall awaits us and, finally, we will come back to Pontevedra.
