Circular hiking route in the Covadonga lakes

A perfect experience for lovers of nature, peace and quiet. With a gentle ascent through the Covadonga Lakes, passing by different sites while enjoying breathtaking views, viewpoints, lakes and the remains of old mines. After a short initial walk, we will arrive at the Mirador del Príncipe de Asturias, which offers views over a characteristic formation of these limestone mountains, where the well-known Vega Comeya is located. The route continues ascending gently up to the remains of the nearby Buferrera mines, the name of which indicates the ancient purpose of their exploitation. We have almost just started and, before we know it, we are already in front of the waters of Lake Ercina and the highest mountains of the Cornión massif. We will continue walking among cows and visitors as, not in vain, we are still in the most visited place in the whole region. We will arrive at the Entrelagos viewpoint to take a photograph of Lake Enol from the heights, and listen to the explanations of our experienced guide about the formation of the wetlands, the fauna and flora or the production of Gamoneu cheese. On the way to the "ghost lake" (depending on rainfall it may or may not appear) of Bricial, the third lake of Covadonga, just before entering the Palomberu beech forest and crossing the Vega de Enol, at the outlet of which is the lake of the same name. From here we will guess the remaining route to return to our starting point.
