Visit Cartagena with a tourist train
Description
The city of Cartagena is a port city open to the Mediterranean Sea through a wide bay, bounded by the Isla de Escombreras (to the east) and the Cerro de La Torrosa (to the west). With more than 3,000 years of history, Cartagena has been the scene of some of the most incredible passages in history. Today, this Punic, Roman, military and modernist city offers so much to see and do that it is no wonder it is one of the most seductive destinations in the Mediterranean. A city that offers the traveller, in each of its corners and in each of its streets and squares, monumental testimonies of its splendid historical past, its greatest exponent being the Roman Theatre, built in the time of the Emperor Augustus and now restored.
