Production of Menorcan artisan cheese
Description
Among the daily tasks of the farmers of Menorca, the production of artisan cheese is an activity that is totally linked to the history, culture, tradition and gastronomy of the island. In this activity, the madonna shows visitors how Mahón-Menorca P.D.O. cheese has been made for over 100 years, one of the most awarded cheeses in the world, from the preparation of the milk with natural rennet to the drying of the pieces using traditional wooden presses. The experience is completed with a visit to La Casa Señorial and La Casa Payesa, preserved as they were in the last century and full of curiosities; the Ethnological Collection with hundreds of objects and utensils necessary for day-to-day work in the countryside of Menorca and the Natural Science Museum of Menorca, to learn about the great biological diversity existing on the island and beyond, and the importance and need for its conservation.
What we are going to do?
