Description
A product with a Protected Designation of Origin (P.D.O.) is a product closely linked to the geographical area in which it is produced: the island of Menorca. The geoclimatic factors, together with the traditional human contribution, determine the final characteristics, aroma and flavour of the traditional Mahón-Menorca P.D.O. cheese. For this reason, to refer to Mahón-Menorca cheese is to deal with a part of the most authentic culture and customs of the island of Menorca. With this experience you will have the opportunity to visit a traditional Menorcan family livestock farm, discover what daily life is like in the countryside in Menorca, learn how to make cheese in the most traditional way and discover all its secrets.
What we are going to do?
We will visit a traditional family livestock farm in Menorca. We will learn everything we need to know about cheese making and the secrets that make this cheese so special. We will have the chance to mark the cheese we have made and leave it on the farm for 8 weeks for it to mature properly. After this time, it will be sent home so that we can taste it (the cost of sending the cheese is not included in the experience). After finishing the cheese workshop, we will visit the whole farm and meet the animals that live there: calves, pigs, sheep, rabbits and also the most famous of the house, the cows! To end the experience, we will sit in a very pleasant and beautiful corner to enjoy the landscape and have a small tasting of some of the typical products that are made on the farm: sobrasada, cheese, carn-i-xulla, cuixot, olive oil, honey and jams. All accompanied by a glass of wine or a soft drink.

Important
This is a traditional and real Menorcan country estate. It is not a tourist attraction, it is the everyday life of the Menorcan countryside. An ideal experience for children.
