Kayak expedition around the island of Menorca
Description
This kayaking expedition departs from Cala Torret, in the town of Sant Lluís, a rocky area full of traditional fishermen's houses. From there we will start the journey along a stretch of the south-east coast that will give us the best postcard views of the island and with which we will discover some of the best preserved coves, caves and protected natural areas of Menorca. A landscape full of impressive sea caves and quiet coves accessible only by sea. The Illa de l'Aire, with its magnificent lighthouse on one side and its native lizards, will not leave you indifferent. The shallow waters that separate it from the coast give the sea a spectacular turquoise blue colour and its interesting biodiversity gives the place a high ecological value. We will also pass by the beautiful and very narrow Cala Rafalet, with the peculiarity that to take a dip you have to jump over some rocks. And S'Algar, a small seaside tourist resort, which is ideal for all kinds of nautical activities.
What we are going to do?
We will start with a brief introduction on how to paddle and use the kayak correctly and we will explain the basic safety rules before heading out to the open sea. Then we will start the expedition that will take us to S'Algar, passing by Illa de l'Aire and Cala Rafalet, among many others. Both on the way there and on the way back, we will stop at different beaches and caves to rest, snorkel, swim and discover the exuberant nature of Menorca. In addition, as the experience will last all day, we will also make a long stop for lunch and to recharge our batteries.
