Kayak excursion along the southern cliffs and sea caves in Menorca
Description
Cala En Porter, the starting point of this route, is a cove with an associated urbanisation, one of the largest on the south coast of Menorca. Cova den Xoroi, Rincón den Pudent, Cales Coves or Cueva dels Suros are just four of the numerous caves that make up the coastline of the south coast of Menorca. You will discover hidden secrets behind these rock formations, such as pirate legends and secret corners that can only be reached by sea.
What we are going to do?
We will start with a brief introduction in Cala En Porter on how to paddle and use the kayak correctly and explain the basic safety rules before heading out to the open sea. Just at the beginning, before leaving the cove, we will find the first small cave under the houses of the urbanisation. Once we leave the cove, we will be able to see the Cueva den Xoroi on top of the cliff. The first corner we come across is the Alt i fondo corner. Following the coast, we find the Iosa den Pudent and next to it another cave with a narrow entrance. A few metres further on is the Rincón den Pudent. At the exit, you will find the popularly known Rincón dels Enamorats, a spectacular little corner. Next, some small caves will take you to the entrance of Cales Coves, closed and protected, where in summer you can see many boats at anchor. From cave to cave, we reach the entrance to Cala Es Canutells with its white sandy beach and a good ramp for disembarking. This activity is only one way and you will return to Calan Porter by van.
