Boat trip around the port of Mahón, in Menorca
Description
The Port of Mahón, located on the east coast of the island of Menorca, is one of the largest natural harbours in the Mediterranean, with a length of more than six kilometres. This has meant that, over the course of history, it has been used as a refuge, for war fleets or even to build a military hospital on one of its islets. With this route we will be able to enjoy all the views that the port provides, as well as discovering the secrets that are hidden on each island. We will even be able to observe the underwater views, as the bottom of the boat has an underwater view.
What we are going to do?
A 1-hour tour of the Port of Mahón, in Menorca, with historical commentaries. We will start the route towards Lazareto Island, where we will be able to see the defence towers at the entrance to the port that defended Mahón for centuries. We will pass by the Castle of San Felipe and La Mola. Finally, we will get to know Es Castell and Georgetown and the reason for the connections between Great Britain and Menorca.
