Bike tour through the villages of Menorca
Description
The tour follows the same route as the famous Camí de Cavalls GR-223, a beautiful path that takes you all the way around the island along the coast, crossing each of its hidden coves, ravines, forests and fields. The Camí de Cavalls (Horses' Path) is so called because of the constant movement of British soldiers on horseback who guarded the coast during the English domination of the island. The typical Mediterranean fishing coves are shown in all their splendour on this tour. We will visit the fishing village of Es Castell (founded by the English in the 18th century as Georgetown) and its famous harbour of Cales Fonts, with its small shops and restaurants famous for their fresh fish and seafood dishes, all located in natural caves. The whole route runs along quiet and easy to walk paths that will show us the most traditional Menorca.
