Visit to the Genova Caves in Palma de Mallorca
Description
In 1906 a treasure was discovered just a few minutes away from Palma: the Genova caves, a fascinating natural legacy sculpted in stone, drop by drop, over centuries. In prehistoric times, the natural caves in Mallorca served as habitat and refuge. Nowadays, they enchant thousands of people with their natural beauty, sculpted by water over the centuries: enormous domes, majestic columns, pools of water, tunnels... This is a must-see if you are in Palma. Its proximity to the capital of Mallorca makes it easily accessible to visitors, as it is located in a residential neighbourhood belonging to the municipality of Palma. Like many of Mallorca's caves and caverns, they are made up of a series of underground galleries of limestone origin. These galleries are linked by naturally formed corridors. Combined with a magical audiovisual show, these vaulted domes make up a spectacular 36-metre-deep ensemble that will not leave you indifferent.
