Guided tour of the Cathedral of Mallorca
Description
The Cathedral of Mallorca is one of the most spectacular Gothic cathedrals in the Mediterranean. Its construction began in the 13th century and was completed in the 17th century. Located within the walls of Palma, the Cathedral of Mallorca, also known as La Seu de Mallorca, rises imposingly above the Mediterranean Sea and is considered one of the jewels of Mallorcan Gothic architecture. On this guided tour you will discover its history, evolution, curiosities and secrets. You will also see the three major renovations or monumental interventions that have taken place in the cathedral: the reconstruction of the Portal Mayor at the end of the 19th century; the major renovation by Antoni Gaudí between 1904 and 1914 by order of Bishop Joan Pere Campins and the contemporary art intervention by Miquel Barceló (2007) in the old chapel of Sant Pere. We can also visit the Cathedral Museum where we can find the relic of the patron saint of Palma: Saint Sebastian; the tomb of Bishop Gil Sánchez Muñoz, and the two chapter rooms, among other curiosities.

We will then enter the interior of the church through the north portal or "l'Almudaina".
