Full day excursion to the island of Cabrera by boat
Description
One of the most beautiful and least known national parks in the Mediterranean is located ten kilometres south of the cape of Las Salinas in Mallorca. The Cabrera archipelago is a place that will captivate you with its generous nature, an Eden to disconnect from the world. It is made up of 19 islets and is located in a channel that is difficult to navigate, which is why it served, among other things, as a refuge for pirates. It was declared a National Maritime and Terrestrial Park in 1991, constituting one of the incredible enclaves that make up the Balearic Islands. Being isolated and difficult to access has allowed its landscape to remain almost intact. It has a rich ecosystem of fauna, flora and autochthonous species, as well as one of the best preserved seabeds on the Mediterranean coast. Cabrera is an ideal destination to disconnect in a unique environment, where the turquoise of the sea meets the blue of the sky in an infinite horizon. Visiting it allows us to get away from civilisation and feel like Robinson Crusoe for a day.
What we are going to do?
We will go on a full day excursion with a combination of a boat trip, free time to discover the Cabrera National Park and a refreshing swim at the unspoilt beach of Ses Covetes. We will embark in the port of Palma and sail for approximately 2 hours and a half until we reach the island of Cabrera. During the trip we will make a surprise stop at a spectacular cave, the Blue Cave (weather permitting). When we arrive at Cabrera we will have another 2 and a half hours of free time to get off the boat and discover the island at our leisure. There we can visit the castle and enjoy the unbeatable panoramic views it offers, the museum of the island or go on one of the signposted hiking routes, as well as, of course, swimming and snorkelling to discover one of the best sea beds in the Mediterranean. The experience continues with another 45-minute boat trip to Ses Covetes Beach, where we will have 1 hour to swim, sunbathe and rest, before returning by bus to the starting point in Palma.
