Entrance to the Palma Aquarium
Description
Palma Aquarium offers its visitors a unique combination of 8,000 marine species inhabiting 55 aquariums with a total of 5 million litres of salt water, with an elaborate setting and extensive vegetation, creating a feeling of complete immersion that allows visitors to enjoy, understand and appreciate the wonderful world of the sea and its importance to our lives. The aquarium has the greatest diversity of marine fauna in the world, from sharks and rays to corals and octopuses. In the tropical zone you can even find puffer and clown fish. At 8.5 metres deep, the Big Blue Aquarium is home to the most feared marine specimens, the sharks. And if the trip itself is a wealth of impressions, the marine park also has a lush terrestrial ecosystem: the Jungle. Tropical and aquatic plants, exotic trees, waterfalls, extraordinarily beautiful flowers and archaeological remains of ancient civilisations characterise the largest rooftop garden in Spain and the second largest in Europe. Thus, Palma Aquarium is much more than just an aquarium, but also offers the opportunity to take a journey through all the oceans of the world in a single day.
What we are going to do?
You will enter the Palma Aquarium in Mallorca and you will be able to enjoy all its facilities free of charge. Along a 900-metre route, you will discover the fauna and flora of all the world's oceans and the largest exhibition of living Mediterranean and tropical corals in Europe. You will be able to feed the sharks in the spectacular aquarium where they live. An expert guide explains the whole process while the divers dive to feed these animals daily. Palma Aquarium also has a large open-air garden with interactive aquariums where, as well as learning about the animals, you can participate in feeding them. An ideal area to enjoy the sun while the little ones have fun with the children's entertainment or searching for the treasure housed in a large Pirate Ship.
