Tour of the historic centre of Antequera
Description
Few places can boast the historical and cultural heritage of Antequera. Nestled in the heart of Andalusia, this city has more than fifty monuments and archaeological sites of extraordinary importance. To stroll through Antequera is to immerse oneself in its past. A glorious history that has left a legacy of palaces, churches and convents of the most varied styles, together with a Muslim fortress and a prehistoric site declared a World Heritage Site. The municipality also boasts one of the most amazing natural sites in the province of Malaga, El Torcal.
What we are going to do?
We will start at the Plaza del Coso Viejo, where the archaeological museum is located. We will be able to enter the collegiate church of San Sebastián and we will go up to the interior of the wall, the exterior of the citadel, the old collegiate church of Santa María, Roman baths, and several small squares belonging to the churches and convents that make up the monumentality of the city. We will finish again in the lower part, next to the convent of Las Descalzas.
