Private bike tour through Malaga
Description
An activity that combines sport, culture and gastronomy in a single visit. You will get to know the fishing culture and tradition, as well as learn how to make your own sardine skewer. All this always accompanied by expert local guides.
What we are going to do?
We present a very special experience: cycling along Malaga's seafront promenade we will discover its two fishing districts par excellence: the Pedregalejo district and the Palo neighbourhood. In Pedregalejo we will visit a very special shipyard, listed as Historical Industrial Heritage of Spain. A unique place where, for centuries, the most characteristic fishing boat of Malaga has been built, among others: the "jábega". Here, apart from visiting its workshops and seeing some of the boats that are real gems, you will learn about the construction techniques that have endured over the centuries and have been passed down from generation to generation. At El Palo you will discover the variety of fish that inhabit the coast of Malaga, the different fishing techniques and much of the history surrounding this ancient profession. We cannot leave without trying one of the most characteristic things in Malaga: the art of the “espetos”. On the beach you will learn how to prepare your own “espeto de sardinas” (sardine skewer) from an authentic master “espetero”. And best of all, you'll eat it while enjoying wonderful views of the Mediterranean accompanied by a fresh salad and a good wine or a glass of beer.
