Oil Route with tasting included in the Mountains of Malaga
Description
Andalusia is the region that produces the most olive oil in the world, with the province of Jaén at the head, which is internationally recognised as the "Olive Oil Capital of the World". But it is not the only province that produces. Malaga has numerous olive groves where visits are organised, where you can see the processes of extraction, storage and packaging in the oil mills, oil tastings, millers' breakfasts and gastronomic days.
What we are going to do?
We will start the tour visiting a centenary olive grove, where we will learn about the traditional tools and how to harvest the olives. After that we will go to an Andalusian farmhouse with its own olive oil mill where we will have a tasting of olive oil. After the visit to the olive oil mill we will go into the Montes de Málaga and have lunch in a local restaurant. After lunch we will visit the two villages situated in the "Pyrenees of the Axarquia", Alfarnate and Alfarnatejo. Beautiful villages in the middle of the mountains and surrounded by olive trees, whose landscape contrasts completely with what we are used to seeing on the coast.
