Description
Cities are not only defined by the historical milestones that defined them. There are also more hidden stories, nestled in the subconscious of its inhabitants, which are sometimes better drawn than their own streets and squares. With this tour we will get to know the old town of Madrid, full of unexplained mysteries, dark legends and curious traditions that have been passed down from generation to generation until reality is confused with fantasy. Madrid is a city full of mysteries. Some have already been unravelled; others have yet to be revealed.
What we are going to do?
After starting in the Plaza de Pontejos we will go to the Plaza de la Provincia, from where we will discover the underground, recalling the mysteries hidden in the Madrid Metro. Afterwards, we will enter the La Latina neighbourhood, one of the oldest and most historic areas of the city. During the tour of this neighbourhood, in which we will pass through Puerta Cerrada, Mercado de la Cebada and Museo de San Isidro to finally return via the Viaducto de Segovia, we will talk about the origins of the city, the miracles of San Isidro and the crimes that have plagued its streets throughout history. The Almudena Cathedral, the Plaza de Oriente and the Convent of the Encarnación will culminate the tour.
