Tapas tour with rooftop views in Madrid

What we are going to do?

We will go on a four and a half hour tapas tour where we will discover Spanish gastronomy from bar to bar. The tour will start in Plaza de San Miguel, where we will move to the streets La Latina, Cava Baja and Cuchilleros, famous for tapas; there we will taste typical tapas of mushrooms or Padrón peppers, accompanied by a beer or cider. The route will continue through different bars in the centre of Madrid, where we will taste the famous Spanish omelette pincho accompanied by a cold beer in the San Miguel Market. After the visit to the market, we will stroll through the Plaza Mayor and the Barrio de las Letras, where famous poets and artists spent the best years of their lives. Next to Calle Huertas, our stop is at an old but renovated bar (or "Casa de Comidas"), to taste cheeks with mashed potatoes and drink a good wine, preferably red. The route continues walking through the Plaza de Santa Ana and the Teatro Español. Our last tasting stop will be a traditional tapa of Gamba al Ajillo served in terracotta or earthenware dish. After several typical tastings, can you think of a better ending than going up to a terrace with excellent views of Madrid to enjoy a cocktail?
