"Tell me what you eat and I will tell you who you are" said Jean Anthelme Brillat-Savarin, lawyer and politician, better known as a gastronome. Food, in other words, says a lot about people. As everyone knows, tapas and markets are an important part of Spanish culture, so this bike tour will allow us to immerse ourselves in this part of Madrid's people's lives. With 3.2 million residents, most of whom have come from other parts of Spain, Madrid is a very diverse city. Every neighbourhood has a distinct atmosphere and nowhere is this more evident than in the local markets. If you're looking to experience Madrid as the locals do, strolling through these markets is the best way to do it!
What we are going to do?
A 3-hour bike tour through the city centre, discovering the most important places related to Madrid's gastronomy. We will pass through some famous neighbourhoods such as Las Letras and La Latina. We will discover where the oldest restaurant in the world, Botín, is located and which is the most famous street for tapas in Madrid, La Cava Baja. During the route we will make two stops to taste typical Spanish cuisine and experience the daily culinary habits of the Spaniards thanks to a selection of traditional markets. The route is about 12 kilometres long and is done in private groups. In addition, you can choose whether you want to do it on a traditional touring bike or on an electric bike.
