Guided tour of Toledo with a visit to a winery, from Madrid
Description
Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Toledo is one of the oldest cities in Europe with buildings that mix architectural styles such as Moorish, Gothic, Mudejar, Renaissance and Baroque. It is also called the "city of three cultures" as Christians, Muslims and Jews lived here. The great painter El Greco lived in Toledo in the 16th century.
What we are going to do?
We will take a full-day excursion through the region of Toledo. We will leave Madrid in the direction of the imperial city of Toledo. We will go into the heart of the city, visit the Jewish quarter and the area of convents, with stories and legends that go back centuries. We will discover the most emblematic places and its main monuments, such as the Cathedral of Toledo, whose architecture is a clear example of the Spanish Gothic style. After about 45 minutes of free time to discover the city at our leisure, we will go to the vineyards, where we will visit the winery and taste wines, accompanied with a selection of tapas and snacks. Finally, we will return to Madrid.
