Tour to Playa de las Catedrales, Ribadeo and the "casas indianas" from Lugo
Description
Halfway between Ribadeo and Foz, in the heart of the Mariña Lucense, the beach of Augas Santas is better known as Playa das Catedrais because of the marvellous arches and shapes that the Cantabrian Sea has formed in the rocks over thousands of years. The peculiarity of this beach is that the arches and shapes made by the sea erosion are only visible at low tide, because when the tide rises, the shapes and arches are covered by the sea. The ideal complement to visit the Catedrais beach is the town of Ribadeo. It is the last Galician coastal town before entering Asturias. It has Roman origins, but it was the Marquis of Sargadelos who promoted and activated this town.
What we are going to do?
We will leave Lugo to enjoy a guided tour of about five hours by the beach of Las Catedrales, where we can access and enjoy the rock formations that make this beach a unique place. The second stop will be Ribadeo, where we will make a guided walking tour to see all the stately mansions, the houses of indianos, baroque churches, the Port of Porcillan or the Castle of San Damián.
