Jeep tour in the north of Lanzarote
Description
Volcanic caves, mountain villages, whitewashed houses, pristine sandy beaches and crystal clear waters, cliffs, jameos, viewpoints and extravagantly shaped cactus. The north of Lanzarote is full of corners in which the artist César Manrique intervened with mastery and a deep respect for his surroundings. It was his original way of highlighting the island's natural beauty. This excursion, the most coastal one in Lanzarote, leads to corners that are hard to forget and that prove the island's special relationship with art, both human and natural. From a select collection of cactus to an auditorium set up in a volcanic and underwater cave, without forgetting the impressive views of the Chinijo Archipelago or the beach of Famara, this route skirts the north of the island next to an Atlantic ocean that constantly invites you to swim and some peaks and viewpoints where the cameras won't stop working.
What we are going to do?
We will make a route in 4x4 vehicles (Jeep) through the north of Lanzarote. The first stop will be in the village of Guatiza, where we will be able to admire the plantations of Tuneras and discover the cosmetic, pharmaceutical and food uses of the cochineal, an insect that lives in them. We will continue to the village of Mala, where the oldest Cactus Garden in Lanzarote emerges, and we will cross the villages of Arrieta and Punta Mujeres. We will continue northwest towards Jameos del Agua and the Cueva de los Verdes. These are two of Cesar Manrique's best tourist attractions. The route continues along the coast until we reach Caletón Blanco Beach, with its crystal clear waters and white sand, and Órzola, a place where the white of the picturesque fishing village and the turquoise of its beaches blend together. After lunch (not included in the price) we will resume our walk towards the vicinity of Yé, the Mirador del Río and the Mirador de Guinate. We will continue the route passing Mágues, Haria, Gallo and Guinate until we reach the Mirador de los Helechos, where you can taste a variety of Canarian products and at the same time contemplate the splendid Valley of the Thousand Palm Trees. Finally, we will pass through the village of Los Valles, arriving at Teguise and the house of Cesar Manrique, where the excursion will come to an end.
