Complete tour of Lanzarote
Description
Lanzarote has something different that goes beyond what can be found in any sun and beach destination. An island where nature and art go hand in hand, where its people feel and live the commitment and pride of belonging to it, and the food tastes of sea and countryside, an island whose essence leaves its mark. Volcanic eruptions have given it a spectacular appearance of singular shape and beauty. Beside unusual landscapes formed by volcanic caves, lava lakes and craters, lie beaches of golden sand and crystal-clear waters. The Timanfaya National Park, a beautiful succession of volcanic landscapes, is one of the island's main tourist attractions, as are the Art, Culture and Tourism Centres created by the local artist César Manrique.
What we are going to do?
We will make a full day tour by coach through the most important sites of Lanzarote. We will start the route on our way to the Fire Mountains where we will be able to enjoy incredible views until we reach El Golfo, also known as the Green Lake, and we will pass by the largest salt mines of the Canary Islands, the Janubio Salt Flats. We will drive through the south of Lanzarote towards the Timanfaya National Park and on the way we will attend the geothermal demonstrations on the islet of Hilario. Afterwards we will follow the famous Ruta de los Volcanes inside the National Park and we will have the option to take a camel ride through Timanfaya (optional - not included in the price). We will arrive at the village of Yaiza and have free time for lunch. In the afternoon, we will discover La Geria, an area unique in the world for being covered with vineyards and semicircular lava walls. There we will enjoy a wine tasting in one of its famous wineries. We will continue our tour through the north of the island, through the Valley of the Thousand Palm Trees and the village of Haría. The next and last stop will be Jameos del Agua, a spectacular natural cave generated from different geological transformations and transformed into a work of art by the Lanzarote artist César Manrique.
