Fuerteventura is the ideal destination for a great holiday. Among the most visited places on the island is Corralejo and its surroundings. In the north of Fuerteventura, Corralejo attracts people who want to practice water sports as well as those who want to enjoy the tranquillity and the landscape. The most outstanding example of this landscape is the Corralejo Dunes, an area declared a Natural Park by the Government of the Canary Islands. The Corralejo Natural Park is the ideal place to enjoy the desert beauty of the island of Fuerteventura. This coastal strip measuring 2.5 by 10.5 kilometres has two harmoniously contrasting sectors. In the north, next to the large tourist resort of Corralejo, is the largest dune field in the Canary Islands, a huge expanse of white sand bathed by the turquoise waters of the Atlantic Ocean. The southern sector is quite the opposite: volcanic, ochre and red in colour, rugged and dramatic in shape.
What we are going to do?
We will meet at the port of Playa Blanca (south of Lanzarote), where we will board a boat that will take us to the island of Fuerteventura. The sailing trip will take approximately 30 minutes. Once in the port of Corralejo (Fuerteventura) and accompanied by the guide, we will visit El Cotillo, a picturesque fishing village where we can go to the beach, stroll along the promenade or relax with a drink on one of its beautiful terraces. Later we will head to Corralejo, where we will have free time to go shopping, stroll through its streets or eat a delicious fresh fish in one of its restaurants. To finish the day, we will head to the Natural Park of the Corralejo Dunes with a beautiful route that will offer us impressive views. First we will stop to walk on the white sand dunes and then we will have free time to swim and sunbathe on the kilometres of crystal clear beaches that surround the park, undoubtedly some of the best beaches in the Canary Islands. At the end of the day we will board the ferry back to Lanzarote.
