Snowshoeing in the National Park of Ordesa and Monte Perdido, Aragon
Description
The Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park and its surroundings is a magical and peaceful place, unlike other places where snowshoeing trips are more crowded. We propose a route at your level where you can explore this idyllic landscape of the Aragonese Pyrenees accompanied by a professional guide and instructor with experience and great knowledge of the terrain. A rewarding way to move through the snow and observe the winter landscape. Snowshoes are a plastic device used for walking on snow. In ancient times they were made of wood and skins. The experience consists of putting the snowshoes under the boots, using bindings. Thanks to the snowshoes, the poles and the guide's explanations, we will be able to walk on the snow with relative ease. Snowshoes allow us to walk on foot in winter through valleys, snowy forests, paths or tracks and enter the magic of the winter mountain. It is not without a certain amount of physical effort, but the reward for the views is well worth it.
What we are going to do?
We will go on a snowshoeing excursion around the National Park of Ordesa and Monte Perdido, in Huesca, in the heart of the Aragonese Pyrenees. The excursion will last 2-3 hours depending on physical condition. We will meet at 9 am in Escalona, pick up the necessary equipment and travel (by public transport, included in the price) to the starting point of the excursion. During the journey we will be able to listen to interesting information about the environment (geology, history, culture, nature, legends, etc.) thanks to an audio guide. Once at the destination, we will put on our snowshoes, gaiters and poles and start the excursion. At the end, around 13.30h, we will return to the base in Escalona where we will have left the vehicles.
