Granada's coastline offers spectacular scenery as a backdrop for unforgettable moments. The diversity of its nature is so rich that it offers us almost personalised corners for everyone. If you are looking to enjoy a day at the beach at your own pace and without crowds, this experience is ideal for you. La Rijana beach is one of the most spectacular coves to be found on the coast of Granada, located in the municipality of Gualchos-Castell de Ferro and close to Sotillo beach. It is a small, isolated beach, much loved and appreciated by the locals for its crystal clear waters. The beach is about 250 metres long and 20 metres wide, with areas of fine, dark sand. Surrounded by cliffs, it is protected from the waves and the wind. The sunsets from the shore, with views of an old watchtower almost collapsed on a rocky outcrop, are spectacular. It is a perfect place for snorkelling, as the rock formations surrounding the bay are full of life.
What we are going to do?
We will meet at a central point in Granada and we will travel in a van all together to the beach of La Rijana (the trip takes about 40 minutes), a paradise on the coast of Granada where we will enjoy all its beauty with a snorkelling experience. Although it may seem that the beach is a bit hidden, it is easily accessible. To get there, you just have to walk down a track from the car park at the Zacatín ravine. Once on the beach, as well as snorkelling for approximately 2 hours, you can also enjoy some time on the beach, which has a beach bar and a space where you can rent paddle surf and kayaks. No previous experience is necessary as we will provide you with an easily adaptable mask model so that everyone can see and breathe in and out of the water. Thanks to the panoramic view and the possibility of breathing through the nose and mouth, the observation of the underwater universe is even more accessible.
