Private tour of the Alhambra. Discover all the details about its hydraulic system and the importance of water in the city of Granada.

Discover how the complex hydraulic system that supplies the palatial city of the Alhambra was devised and the importance of water for the city of Granada, founded 2,700 years ago by the Iberians. Like agriculture, the fountains and gardens that we contemplate today are possible thanks to the existence of the Acequia Real and its tributaries that transport water by the principle of communicating vessels. You will also learn about the importance of the olive tree in al-Andalus and the medicinal uses of Nasrid agriculture. We will visit, among other places, the courtyard of the Sultana's cypress and the irrigation channel where we will be able to appreciate the aesthetic and symbolic uses of water in Islamic palace architecture and we will enjoy the impressive views as we arrive at the Alcazaba. We will walk from the entrance of the Alhambra through the lower gardens, the Water Tower, the Alcazaba and ending at the Placeta de los Aljibes. A professional guide, passionate about the history of the Alhambra, will accompany you on this route through the nooks and crannies of the Generalife, its gardens and the most emblematic palaces that make it up.
