Guided van tour of the Sierra Nevada, Granada
Description
The Sierra Nevada National and Natural Park has the highest peak on the Iberian Peninsula, the Mulhacén, at 3,482 metres. It was declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1986. It is an ideal place for sports such as hiking or for taking one of the various routes that run through the park. We will pass through different strategic points from where we can enjoy unforgettable views of different parts of Andalusia. If we are lucky we may also encounter some of the local fauna that inhabit the park, such as mountain goats, foxes, eagles or wild horses. For the views, for the spectacular colour of the sky, for the light reflecting off the mountains, and for many other reasons, it is a perfect place to take excellent photographs, meditate, clear your mind and above all enjoy nature.
What we are going to do?
We will meet at a central point in Granada and we will travel together in a van to the Sierra Nevada Natural Park. In total, the tour will take just over 3 hours and during the journey we will make stops to enjoy all the beauty of the north side of the park. We will visit several points of interest covering the municipalities of Monachil and Guejar Sierra until we reach the limit that can be accessed by vehicles, at about 2,500 metres above sea level. It is a widely used area to get to know the high peaks of the Sierra Nevada, both as a starting point for hiking and for snow activities in winter. We will finish the experience back in Granada.
