Minivan tour of Gran Canaria
Description
Discover the heart of the island of Gran Canaria at its highest point and observe the changes in the landscape and vegetation as you gain altitude. An ideal place on the island to get to know the lifestyle of the inland villages and understand why Gran Canaria is called the "miniature continent". One of the most impressive spots is the Mirador de las Yeguas viewpoint, from where you can observe the changes in the landscape and get beautiful views over the entire southern part of the island. Continuing to gain altitude and now within the area declared a Biosphere Reserve, we find Fataga, one of the towns in Gran Canaria that best preserves its heritage, with old cobbled streets and houses that conserve a traditional Canarian style; and Tejeda, the only town in the Canary Islands that belongs to the association of "the most beautiful villages in Spain", located in the centre of the island at an altitude of 1,560 metres above sea level. Still on secondary roads inland, you can reach Teror, an emblematic town for the locals, where the Virgen del Pino, patron saint of the province of Las Palmas, is venerated.
What we are going to do?
We will make a guided tour in vehicles with all the comforts to enjoy the beautiful views of Gran Canaria, while we listen to all the information that the guide is offering. The guide will inform you about the most important and curious facts about the history, culture and nature of the island. The first stop will be at the Mirador de las Yeguas viewpoint and then on to the Artera Camel Park. The route will continue to gain altitude to visit the villages of Fataga and Tejeda, where we will have enough time to visit the villages and enjoy the views. We then head to the Caldera de los Pinos de Galdar for a photo stop before lunch in Valleseco (not included in the price). In the afternoon, the tour continues to Teror to visit its old town and finally, Tamaraceite and Ingenio, where we will have the privilege of visiting a plantation and production centre of Aloe Vera and other typical products.
