Guided tour through the heart of Gran Canaria
Description
Also known as the "miniature continent", Gran Canaria stands out for its marked contrasts. In the same day you can enjoy marvellous beaches surrounded by dune fields and climb to the peaks covered in Canary Island pine forests, whose greenery stands out against the dark volcanic substratum. Like the rest of the Canary Islands, it is blessed with an enviable climate, an eternal spring that invites you to live intensely its rich nature and diversity of landscapes, its charming seaside and inland towns, its traditions, culture and history. The northern midlands never cease to amaze with their green meadows, cultivated areas, forests, nature parks, mountains, breathtaking viewpoints and well-kept hidden villages.
What we are going to do?
We will take a guided bus tour through the heart of the island, discovering first of all the second most populated city of Gran Canaria, Telde, a modern city with an interesting past, a former aboriginal capital, where we can visit and learn about the history of its church and the old town. The route will take us to the village of Arucas and Firgas, known as "the balcony of the Atlantic" for its fantastic panoramic views or as "the village of water" for its exceptional waterfall fountain located in the middle of the street of the old town. Once on the summits, we will stop at a restaurant in the area of Valleseco for lunch (not included in the price). We will continue through protected natural areas and mountains with stops at the Mirador de la Cruz de Tejeda, with magnificent views of Roque Nublo and Teide; and at San Bartolomé, with fantastic views of the Santa Lucía Valley and the Caldera de Tirajana, a 40 km crater. To end the experience we will enjoy a breathtaking panoramic route through the Fataga Valley ravine before returning to the starting point.
