Excursion to the summits of Gran Canaria and Roque Nublo
Description
This tour is designed to discover the central mountainous area of the island of Gran Canaria in a fun and entertaining way. The excursion takes place in the protected natural areas of Roque Nublo, Pico de las Nieves or Bandama, San Mateo and the village of Teror. The Caldera de Bandama is the last active volcano on Gran Canaria, with a spectacular crater of 1 km in diameter, which also offers fantastic views over the north-east of the island. The route continues to Pico de las Nieves, the highest point on the island (1,949 metres), Roque Bentayga, Cruz de Tejeda and Roque Nublo, an impressive 80-metre high monolith, a natural monument considered sacred by the ancient pre-Hispanic aboriginal inhabitants, whose symbolism has survived to the present day and has become the emblem of Gran Canaria. This is an experience with which you can get to know the entire central mountainous area of Gran Canaria through spectacular viewpoints with exceptional views over valleys and ravines. A perfect opportunity to discover the history, anecdotes and peculiarities of this fascinating protected area, its untouched landscapes, forests and secondary roads.
