Description
The Empordà region is one of the least known areas of Catalonia. Located just an hour and a half from Barcelona and about 40 minutes from Girona, most visitors are only familiar with the Costa Brava, its beaches, the intense blue of the Mediterranean and its whitewashed villages. But in a land of wines par excellence, the Empordà DO is one of the surprising local products of this undiscovered area. We only have to take a stroll around the area to understand the importance of wine in this region. Large vineyards dot the beautiful landscape, vineyards on the plains that reach as far as the sea, taking advantage of the slopes of the mountains. Small wineries, often family-run, that have made an effort to modernise and improve their wines in order to compete, at least in terms of quality, with the best Spanish wines. With this route you will have the opportunity to taste wines that will surely surprise you and that you can accompany with local products of great quality and Km. 0, such as sausages, cheeses, anchovies, olive oil and much more.
What we are going to do?
An excursion departing from Girona that will take us to discover the Empordà wine-growing area. We will learn about the local grape varieties, the different soils and how the wind and the proximity to the sea affect the quality of these wines. Blacks, rosés, whites and the pearl of the Empordà, the sweet Garnatxa. Wines that receive more and more awards every day all over the world. An experience with which we will visit 2 of the best wineries in the area where we will be able to taste a selection of their best wines. The owners of the wineries themselves or the oenologists will be in charge of explaining the whole production process, from the grape harvest to the final product. On our second visit, we will accompany the tasting with a "brunch" or "country breakfast" among the vineyards (weather permitting), based on typical local products of the highest quality.

Le prix par personne est pour les tours partagés. Le prix par groupe est pour les tours privés (groupes de 6 personnes maximum).
