History and legends of Girona, basic guided tour
Description
Girona, the "City of the 4 rivers", enjoys a privileged geographical position that makes it suitable to be visited all year round. Close to the big city of Barcelona, as well as to the French border, the Costa Brava and the Pyrenees, it is a city that captivates all those who discover it. In the historic centre of the city, very close to the Cathedral, we find an important Jewish heritage. The Aljama of Girona (Jewish community) was one of the most important in Spain and a centre of the Kabbalah. The Jewish quarter known as "El Call" is a labyrinth of narrow cobbled streets that have remained intact since 1492, the year of the expulsion of the Jews from Spain. Going down the famous Calle de la Força, leaving El Call behind, we will pass by the modernist style house where the architect Rafael Masó was born and we will arrive at the Rambla, to meet the Onyar River and its bridges, where we will finish our tour and take some nice pictures.
