Description
The lake is the main place of interest in the town of Banyoles. It is a unique natural space where you can enjoy a pleasant walk or boat trip while discovering its history and legends. At Banyoles Lake we will discover the wide variety of birds and fish that inhabit it and we will be able to visit the old fisheries, the Font Pudenta and the Paratge dels Sauus. We will also learn about the popular legends that accompany the history of the lake. There we can take a pleasant stroll around the lake on foot or in an ecological boat that allows us to glide over the dark waters of the lake, without noise or fumes. We will continue our visit to the spectacular medieval town of Besalú, declared a National Historic and Artistic Site in 1966. The Romanesque Pont Vell over the River Fluvià, allows the entrance to the town and at the same time, it will take us to a distant medieval past. The village also has a unique Jewish heritage site in Catalonia, one of the most important Jewish baths ("Mikveh") in Europe and the remains of a 13th century synagogue.
What we are going to do?
A half-day guided excursion that will take us to visit the villages of Banyoles and Besalú. After being picked up at our accommodation or agreed meeting point, we will go to Banyoles Lake, where we will have enough time to take a walk or a boat trip around the lake. Mid-morning we will go to the village of Besalú, an important village dating back to the Middle Ages and of great historical importance in the Jewish community of Girona. The experience includes a guided visit to the "Mikve" of Besalú, considered one of the most important in Europe. Around 1pm we will return to Girona where we will end the excursion.

Important
The pick-up point will be confirmed 48 hours before the day of the activity. If you are arriving to Girona from Barcelona or any other city, you can be picked up at Girona train station. The ecological boat trip on Banyoles Lake is optional and is not included in the price. Tickets can be purchased directly on the day of the excursion. The price per person is for shared tours. The price per group is for private tours (groups of up to 6 people).
Cancellation policy
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the activity starts. If you cancel under this time or do not show up, you will not be refunded.
