Visit to the Caves of San José, in Castellón
Description
The San José Caves, with their underground river, are located in the municipality of Vall d'Uixo within the Sierra Espadán Natural Park. It is the most important tourist attraction in the area. The visit to the caves lasts 40 minutes with a constant temperature of 20ºC throughout the year. The tour takes approximately 800 metres in a boat and a walk through a dry gallery of approximately 255 metres. Despite the many visits by speleologists, the origin of the river and the end of the grotto are still unknown. It is the longest cave in the province of Castellón and the longest navigable underground river in Europe. After our visit to the caves we will pass by Calzados Segarra and its museum. The oldest footwear company in Spain, founded in 1882.
What we are going to do?
Visit to one of the most incredible underground caves in existence, the San Jose Caves. We will take a boat tour inside the caves. We will finish with a visit to Calzados Segarra, the oldest shoe company in Spain.
