Visit to the Casas de Cargadores a Indias in Sanlúcar DE Barrameda, Cadiz
Description
This tour brings you closer to the history of Sanlúcar in the era of merchants and markets of the 17th and 18th centuries, which led to the construction of refined houses, almost so refined that they look like palaces. We will see the House of Francisco Gil de Ledesma, a house-cellar that belonged to the Honorary Mayor of the city. The Casa de Gómez Barreda, with its sumptuous Baroque façade, one of the most beautiful in the street, or the Casa de la Contratación, where the Indian trade between the New and the Old World was administered.
What we are going to do?
At the beginning of the tour, we will taste a glass of Manzanilla typical of the area. We will continue with a walk through the historic centre of Sanlúcar. Once inside the historic centre, we will see the refined houses that were built as a result of the Indian trade. We will pass by the House of Francisco Gil de Ledesma, the House of Gómez Barreda, the Convent of Santo Domingo and we will stop in front of the House of Ceballos.
