Jerez de la Frontera is the most important city in the province as it preserves an important historical and artistic heritage. It was the seat of the mysterious civilisation of Tartesos, a Phoenician colony and the seat of cultures such as the Romans, Visigoths and Muslims, who left a deep cultural and artistic mark on its rich heritage. To visit Jerez we have prepared an interesting tourist, cultural and artistic programme based on guided tours so that you can get to know all the charm of this city and its historical and cultural heritage. With this guided tour of the historic centre of the city you will be able to admire in detail and enjoy a unique environment and a very singular architecture, visiting the most emblematic and important streets, squares, buildings and civil monuments of the historical-artistic heritage of Jerez, which still preserve all the essence of past centuries.
What we are going to do?
Starting at the Plaza del Arenal, we will head towards the exterior of the Alcázar of Jerez, admire the building and learn about its history. We will then walk along Calle Lancería until we reach Calle Larga, the city's main shopping area. We will continue until we reach the Blue Rooster building, a symbol of Jerez. At the end of Calle Larga, we will arrive at the Alameda Cristina, where we will see the Convent of Santo Domingo and the baroque style Domecq Palace.
