Excursion to Bruges from Brussels

What we are going to do?

The experience starts at 8.30 am from the centre of Brussels, where you will meet your guide. We will head directly to the charming city of Bruges, located 100 km north-west of the capital and only 15 km from the North Sea. The itinerary starts at the Lake of Love or Minnewater, one of the most beautiful postcards of Bruges, which hides a little-known legend. We will continue to the historic centre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We will see the Walplein, a small and relatively quiet square where we will find some of the oldest houses of the city that preserve the medieval structure that characterizes Bruges. We will discover St. John's Hospital, one of the oldest hospital buildings in Europe. The hospital grew up during the Middle Ages and was a place where pilgrims and sick travellers were cared for. Next to it, the Church of Our Lady of Bruges, which houses Michelangelo's Madonna. On the route we pass the Palace of the Lords Gruut, cross the bridge of St. Boniface and end at the Rosary Pass, which offers us another typical image of the place. The tour ends at two of the busiest and most central squares in Bruges: the Town Hall square and the Grote Markt square, dominated by the bell tower or, as it is called in Flemish, the Belfort tower. The tour ends with 4 hours of free time for lunch and to explore the city at our leisure before returning to Brussels.
